Ethan Jensen — IT, then automation.

A decade-plus of hands-on IT and repair, now focused on deployment automation — turning manual, repetitive processes into reliable zero-touch workflows across Windows and macOS fleets, and bringing legacy software back into supportable shape.

Summary

In short

I'm at my best turning fragile, manual processes into systems that hold up on their own — zero-touch provisioning, fleet-wide scripting on Windows and macOS, RMM automation, and getting legacy applications back to a supportable state. I care about the unglamorous parts: clear documentation, repeatable process, and changes that don't come back to bite the next person. The same approach runs the home lab that became Autonomous Interactions.

2024 — Present

IT Technician · Automation & Deployment · Arvig

Hired as an IT technician; the role has grown to include software packaging, scripting, and deployment work.

  • Built a zero-touch deployment process so new machines provision, configure, and enroll with minimal manual setup.
  • Authored a large share of the automation running in production on the company's NinjaOne (NinjaRMM) fleet.
  • Standardized the macOS fleet — application-deployment and customization scripting — and converted legacy Java Web Start (JNLP) applications into native standalone executables.
  • Reverse-engineered a legacy accounting application to redeploy and reactivate it on new machines.
  • Documented procedures as a growing library of SOPs, so the work is repeatable by the whole team.
  • Speaks on AI in the workplace and automation best practices — the Minnesota Telecommunications Alliance convention and other industry events.
2021 — 2024

Lead Technician / IT Admin · uBreakiFix by Asurion

Rochester, MN. Managed store operations across the region and owned the technical standard, from the back-end network to the bench.

  • Overhauled the network and physical-security stack across all 13 regional locations — planning, deployment, and centralized remote management.
  • Managed three stores directly, with responsibility for staff, daily operations, and customer experience.
  • During that time, the stores under my management reached record performance numbers.
  • Set repair standards and developed techniques the wider team adopted.
2020 — 2021

Install Coordinator · Liberty Business Systems

Fargo, ND. Coordinated onsite installations and special deployments with clients and third-party help desks — experience later applied to designing network infrastructure firsthand.

2012 — 2020

Owner / Field Technician · Retro Repair

Detroit Lakes, MN. Ran an independent electronics-repair business end to end — device and data recovery, onsite repair, printers and networks, plus the inventory and marketing behind it. The hands-on foundation under everything since.

2013 — 2019

Earlier roles

Mobile & electronics repair, retail technical sales, insurance-claims review, and production work across Detroit Lakes and Fargo — the years that taught precision, customer trust, and working under pressure.

What I do with the rest of it

The home lab that became a company; FAA-registered drone flying and aerial photography; and the occasional silent-disco event I help organize. Different surfaces, same instinct — take something complicated and make it run smoothly.
